VIOLINS

There are two early violins in this auction. For identification purposes we are calling them number 1 and number 2:

Violin Number 1

This violin is in an ancient case. We are unable to photograph the labels. There is one typed label reading Antonio Stradivarious. There is another label written in pen reading: Cremona 1716. There is also a label which cannot be read that is written in cursive which maybe German beginning with a letter G. We have seen many many copies of a Stradivarious violin and this is the oldest we have ever seen. The front has repaired age cracks. There are 3 string keys. This is an incomplete violin composed body and neck only

Violin Number 2

This is a very old handmade violin. There are no signatures. The violin has 4 original handcarved string tightners. There are old bridges in the case. This is an incomplete violin composed of body and neck only. There is a hand carved snake in the neck. The body is solid.

We have placed pictures of the two violins in the photo gallery
